Here's 6 minutes of pure noise from a number of 991 GT3's and a few other 911's on the 'Ring.

I like the 911 noise more and more as I hear it like this.

Ugh. I don't want to be that guy, but I'm going to be that guy. The 997 sounds much better than the 991. Ugh. I've become the same kind of person that I loathe.

I think you're just hearing the lower pitch in the revs (because the revs are lower). They're really similar otherwise.
